WAUKESHA CIVIC THEATRE ANNOUNCES OPEN AUDITIONS FOR:

Once On This Island

Open auditions for the Waukesha Civic Theatre’s production of Once On This Island will be held:

• Monday, May 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for children ages 6 to 18 and 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for adults
• Tuesday, May 22 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for ages 16 and above
• Callbacks will be on Wednesday, May 23rd at 6:30 p.m.   Those asked to callbacks will learn a dance.

No appointment is necessary. Auditions will be held at the Waukesha Civic Theatre Building at 264 West Main Street, Waukesha.  Those auditioning will be asked to prepare 32 bars of music and read from the script.  Joe Nolan is directing.

Ti Moune is a peasant island girl who rescues a wealthy boy, Daniel, offering her life in exchange for his to Papa Ge, the demon of death. The gods who rule this island guide Ti Moune on a journey back to Daniel, who has returned to his family – and his arranged marriage. Follow Ti Moune through a beautiful celebration of song and dance that proves love is stronger than prejudice and death. Nominated for eight Tony awards, and winner of the Olivier Award for Best Musical. All roles are open.   There are five roles for men and boys ages 16 to 60, five roles for women and girls ages 16 to 60, one role for a girl age 6 to 12, and a chorus of up to twelve roles for men/boys/women/girls ages 8 and up.
