Welcome to SummerStage
Our 2012 Season Schedule
We are very excited to announce our 2012 event schedule. We have five plays, three music events and a comeday and magic show. We also have two benefit concerts scheduled. One benefits AngelGrace Hospice and Lake Area Free Clinic, and the other benefits the Friends of Lapham Peak. We will have our first musical, first mystery and a Wisconsin premiere. Three of the plays our produced by independent production companies and include Waukesha Civic Theatre, The World’s Stage, Phantom Cicada Theatre Company, and Suitcase Shakespeare. We hope you all will join us for what will be our biggest season ever. Go to our 2102 season schedule page to learn more about each event and to purchase tickets.
Youth Educational Opportunities
We are also excited that this is our first year to offer youth workshops and our summer TheatreCamps. We are offering two youth Suitcase Shakespeare workshops for 8 to 12 year old and 13 to 17 year old age groups. This workshop is sponsored, in part, by the Arts Waukesha organization. Both workshops will be held on Saturday June 16th. For more information, go to the Suitcase Shakespeare Workshop page.
2012 marks our first season for offering the SummerStage TheatreCamps. Two camps will be offered, one for 8 to 12 year old and one for 13 to 17 year old age groups. These workshops will be held during the weeks of June 18 to 22 and June 25 to 29. What makes our TheatreCamp unique is that, since the camp is in Lapham Peak State Park, activities will also include nature hikes. For more information, visit our TheatreCamp page.
Raise the Roof Campaign
SummerStage has embarked on a “Raise the Roof Campaign.” This capital improvement program will help us develop venue improvements including expanding the stage, adding a roof over the stage, adding new sound and lighting systems as well as other improvements including a storage shed, picnic areas, and better park signage. This will help us in achieving our long range plan of becoming a very popular destination as well as having the best outdoor performing arts venue in the state.
Our goal is $50,000 which includes a $25,000 matching donation from Good Harvest Market. In 2012 Good Harvest will match 2 for 1. This means donating $100 will raise $300 with the double match. To date we’ve raised over $20,000 total. If you’re interested in contributing to the fund, please visit the “Raise-the-Roof” capital funding page.
